AMIZOL-7X |
 |
Most powerful scouring, wetting and stain removing agent for polyester, cotton and its blends. No need to add anything else except caustic soda. |
|
|

(POWERFUL SCOURING AGENT)
As
AMIZOL-7X is having excellent stability under the alkaline conditions
prevailing in the scouring bath, it acts as an excellent scouring agent.
Being a solvent base product it is very efficient in removal of natural
waxes and other ingredients, which need to be removed to get good
absorbent fabric.
AMIZOL-7X can be used in perxoide boiling
along with AMIZOL-CT for hosiery, other knitted fabrics or normal woven
materials. It can also be used for scouring of 100% polyester or it’s
blends.
AMIZOL-7X AS STAIN REMOVER
AMIZOL-7X
is an excellent ‘STAIN REMOVER’ that can be used in jet dyeing
operation for simultaneous dyeing & stain removal. It also prevents
rope marks, acts as a defoamer & leveling agent during dyeing. At
the end of dyeing operation it acts as a reduction clearing agent.
AMIZOL-7X can also be used as effective stain remover either in scouring
or peroxide or souring bath. It can also be applied by spotting &
padding techniques.
PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
1. Light yellow - brown transparent to opalescent liquid with harmless odour. 2. Nonionic in nature, pH of 10% aqueous solution is about 8.0 3. Aqueous emulsions are milky, stable to acidic and alkaline pH as required for common processing, even at higher temperature. 4.
Contains no oxalic acid, or any other acidic component to remove iron
stains unlike many other products available in the market. It has been
observed that process houses sometimes receive cloth having number of
stains in a meter length. In such a cloth, applying stain remover
manually to each stain and then washing with water becomes a problem.
Some of the stains are not washed properly after applying stain remover.
Acidic residue on cloth may cause damages to cellulosic component.
Oxalic acid solution can be applied only on rust stains followed by wash
with water. Alternatively, if rust stains are light, oxalic acid
treatment can better be given on jigger. 5. AMIZOL-7X is also devoid
of Chlorinated solvents which cause either heavy pick up or hallowing
during dyeing. This can be tested easily by using polyester viscose
blend, applying stain remover under testing and keeping it unwashed over
night. Next day it is washed and dyed with any Indigosol Colour. Under
such test, AMIZOL-7X, does not give darker shade at the spotted area
whereas chlorinated solvent based stain movers develop distinctly darker
shades on such spots. 6. AMIZOL-7X is devoid of oxidizing agents and reducing agents, and can be applied to dyed material without any harm. 7.
AMIZOL-7X is having shelf life of more than six months. There is a
tendency of becoming yellower on ageing, however; there is no change in
the efficiency of the stain remover.
METHODS OF APPLICATIONS, SCOURINGThe
peroxide treatment may be applied to the cloth after various stages
depending up on the set up of the process house. The peroxide treatment
may be done by continuous manner by Pad - Batch process / Pad - Steam
processe or by batch processes (liquor immersion type) using
jet/winch/jigger/kier machine. It may be done after desizing/ scouring/
mercerizing/ hypochlorite bleaching etc. However; it is suggested to
carry out atleast demineralization treatment prior to peroxide bleach,
if the cloth is likely to have free iron particles from weaving, or high
iron impurities from any other source. Demineralization method involves
treatment with sulphuric acid 5 g/l + oxalic acid 2 g/l at 60°
Centigrade followed by hot & cold wash. The iron impurities have
tendency to cause pin holing around iron particle due to accelerated
peroxide bleaching if the demineralisation pre treatment is not carried
out prior to peroxide.
The recipes for desizing, scouring etc.
should be as per normal practice of the process house. Peroxide
treatment may vary as per the stages of the pre treatment of the cloth
and the left over of size, fats & colouring matter etc., after the
pre treatment. Few of the recipes are suggested below (See table over
next page) are for the guide line of the process house & lab trials
prior to bulk trials are suggested.
Persulphate depolymerises
starch based size better than peroxide. Amount of Persulphate depends on
% of size left over the fabric. For knitted goods without size
Persulphate may be omitted from the recipe.
Sodium silicate is
also a peroxy stabilizer, however if the water is hard it gives very
harsh feel to the cloth. Sodium silicate stabilizing effect is not
suitable for alkalinity obtained by caustic soda 40 g/l. If the water is
not hard then 5 -10 g/l sodium silicate may be used in the bath &
half the quantity of AMIZOL-CT may be reduced to improving on the
chemical cost. AMIZOL-CT is miscible with sodium silicate.

HAND SPOTTINGSpotting
is an age old process for removing of stains. AMIZOL-7X easily removes
stains of industrial greases and lubricating oils. As indicated earlier
the pH of AMIZOL-7X is about 7.0 and hence is harmless for delicate
fabric containing viscose. AMIZOL-7X, on account of its almost neutral
pH does not cause any damage to the hands of the worker (Nail linings
gets damaged by acidic pH ). However; one has to use oxalic acid
solution for heavy rust stains separately, wherever required. For
general rust stains oxalic acid treatment on jiggers is recommended.
PAD / JIG METHODIn
another method goods are padded with AMIZOL-7X - 10 g/l, hydrogen
peroxide - 1 g/l and kept overnight, under proper cover. Next day goods
are washed on jigger and in the same wash liquor further treated with
oxalic acid - 5 g/l at 80 degree centigrade for one hour. Remaining
process for bleaching is done as usual.
Goods with coloured woven
yarn can directly be treated on jigger with 5 to 10 g/l of AMIZOL-7X.
Treatment is done at 80 degree centigrade for one hour. It is frequently
observed that coloured yarn in such goods is not properly washed and
bleeds furiously, even after completion of scouring. In a pile of such
cloth unloaded from jigger after scouring, the bottom layers get soiled
with ‘water mark’ type colour stains. In such type of goods AMIZOL-7X,
while removing stains also helps in complete removal of loose colour and
eliminates formation of water marks. On jigger AMIZOL-7X can be used
along with peroxide or oxalic acid or alkali like soda ash, caustic
soda etc. depending upon the type of blend under consideration,
processors can use AMIZOL-7X along with scouring, oxalic treatment or
peroxide bleach.
SIMULTANEOUSLY APPLICATION OF DYEING & STAIN REMOVING ON JETThe
cloth with coloured woven patterns, required to be topped with medium
to light shades are conveniently treated by this method. AMIZOL-7X is
more popularly used in jet dyeing m/c, using un heat set cloth for
dyeing. This however; causes additional shrinkage & the quality of
cloth where such additional shrinkage is acceptable, can only be
processed by this process. After the cloth is loaded, AMIZOL-7X 1 g/l is
added and the cloth is worked for five minutes. Heating cycle is
started simultaneously. Next acetic acid 1 g/l is added and cloth is
worked for further five minutes. The predispersed colour is then added
and dyeing cycle is run as per required by the quality of cloth. For the
coloured woven cloths the dyeing cycle is carried out at 110 degree
centigrade. Cloth is worked at maximum reel speed and the advantage of
rubbing action between cloth to water and cloth to cloth is achieved,
which helps in removing stains. AMIZOL-7X removes stains during dyeing
without interfering the colouring process. The cloth gets simultaneously
scoured, stain-free and dyed. AMIZOL-7X behaves like a leveling agent
also. As per the common feature of any leveling agent, the colour value
loss up to 5 to 10% is observed due to simultaneous dyeing & stain
removing. This is however; many times acceptable total process time is
considerably saved. In addition, to simultaneous dyeing & stain
cleaning, AMIZOL-7X also simultaneously removes the loose colour from
coloured yarn. This avoids water marks like coloured staining which is a
common problem with this type of varieties.
